“After I came to Children of the Nations, everything changed.”
Juana was born in the Dominican Republic to a mother who loved her but couldn’t give Juana everything she needed to thrive. When she was only five years old, she became a part of the Children of the Nations ministry, and her life was forever changed.
Before joining our program, Juana attended school as often as she could, but her mother struggled to provide her with supplies and the uniform to continue going. At many schools in the Dominican Republic, uniforms are required. But for Juana’s family, even food was hard to come by. Her dreams began to seem out of reach, but still she pushed on and worked hard in school whenever she could.
When Juana joined Children of the Nations, however, her life took a turn for the better. Surrounded by people who cared for her, and with enough food in her belly to focus on school, her dreams started to feel more like they could be a reality. In our program, Juana found not only physical and educational care, but emotional and spiritual care as well. Being in our program helped her feel seen and loved by people and by God.
Receiving a school uniform, although it may seem like something small, meant everything to Juana. A uniform isn’t just clothes to wear to school. It’s a promise that she can continue her education until her dreams are realized. Having a uniform means she now has everything she needs to succeed in school and pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. One day, Juana hopes to give back to her community and help people in need, just like she was helped.
Thanks to your generosity, Juana is now able to go to school every day, and one day she will grow into someone who will transform her nation. You can give the life-changing gift of a school uniform today on our website and help a child stay in school.
