Your generous prayer support can encourage growth in the four areas of holistic care for your sponsored child. These can be a good

place to start praying.

1. Pray for Your Child’s Physical Health
     • Pray that your sponsored child will be safe from diseases and injuries
     • Praise God for the access to food, medical care, hygiene supplies, and more they are now receiving
     • Pray that they will grow strong and healthy and be able to serve others
     • You can borrow John’s prayer: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers”
        (3 John 2, NKJV)


                                                      


2. Pray for Your Child’s Spiritual Health
     • First and foremost, pray that your child will come to know and trust Jesus
     • Pray that your sponsored child finds comfort in God’s Word
     • Pray that your sponsored child becomes part of a thriving church community
     • Pray that your sponsored child connects with good Christian mentors and friends
     • You can copy Jesus’s prayer for Peter: “I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail” (Luke 22:32, NKJV)


                          


3. Pray for Your Child’s Education
    • Pray that your sponsored child will discover their God-given gifts and talents and use them to help others and transform their
      nations
    • Pray that they will have the materials and opportunities they need to succeed in their chosen field
    • Pray that they will find joy in their schoolwork and study hard
    • Pray that they will do well during their exams
    • You can use Solomon’s prayer as a guide: “Give your servant a discerning mind” (1 Kings 3:9a, NET)


                           


4. Pray for Your Child’s Social Health
    • Pray that your sponsored child will have good emotional and mental health
    • Pray that they will make good friends and have healthy relationships
    • Pray that they will make good connections to their community and their culture
    • Use this prayer from Romans: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in
       hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13, NIV)


                                                       

 

5. Other Prayers
    • Pray about anything your sponsored child has mentioned in their letters (e.g., upcoming tests, siblings, new projects, etc.)
    • Pray for the people caring for your sponsored child, whether biological family members, COTN staff, or other guardians—pray that
       God would give them the strength and wisdom to share His love with your sponsored child
    • Thank God for your sponsored child—for bringing you together and for His good plans for them
