The 2022 Support Goal of $13,000 includes my personal support, supply expenses and travel expense.
COTN is dedicated to providing responsible care to orphaned and destitute children by the equipping of nationals, giving children every possible advantage available to grow in a stable, Christ-centered environment, empowering them to be the leaders of tomorrow. COTN carries out this mission by mobilizing resources from churches, agencies, clubs, organizations, governments and individuals to serve children in Malawi, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Dominican Republic and Haiti.
What new opportunities has God sent our way for 2022? Children of the Nations (COTN) cares for more than 5,000 children in Africa and the Caribbean. Our goal is to provide holistic, Christ-centered care for children living in the most destitute situations, meeting their physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs. Providing spiritual care means not only sharing the gospel, but also providing meaningful discipleship and mentoring opportunities. Through partners, like you, our ministry advocates for the children, families, and communities within our reach - for financial needs, professional consulting, Biblical resources, training tools, and so forth. But without your prayers and partnership and the partnership of others, the ability to provide quality, Christ-centered care is more difficult.
One of the main conduits to spiritual growth are the area Lay Pastors and Christian ministry staff. In developing nations, where we work, very few have any Biblical training, and most cannot afford to travel and pay for a Christian education. We believe God has given a mission and passion to change this statistic. In fact, our vision to provide a Christian Ministries certificate program (much like Prairie Bible Institute and Multnomah School of the Bible provide in the 50's and 60's), would dramatically impact predominately Muslim nations, like Sierra Leone, which is one location where we care for children. By reaching lay pastors, pastors, our staff, and some of our brightest youth & young adults, we believe that the spread of the gospel and accurate Biblical teaching will transform this country from the inside-out. We started classes in the Dominican Republic in 2016 and in Uganda they were started in 2017. In December of 2018 Malawi got started with their Biblical Training for Pastors, Sierra Leone and Haiti are making plans to start Biblical training as soon as Covid19 will allow. Uganda has started a second round of the two Bible course and Malawi is making plans to start a second round soon.
Please join me in prayer as we follow God's leading in His ministry.
