Freetown

Displaced, lost, and abandoned children roam the streets of Freetown. At night, many wrap themselves with plastic or cardboard to keep warm. These children are finding hope in our Lighthouse Ministry. This partnership program with Word Made Flesh, Youth for Christ, Community Health Evangelism, and local church members is giving these children the opportunity to walk away from the street life and receive Biblical training, food, skills training, and tutoring and also helps them find a safe place to stay. Thirteen of our children are in the advanced stages of the program with an additional thirty coming up through our initial feeding and discipleship program. Though this work is challenging, we are encouraged to see the change that is taking place in the lives of our children.

Our radio ministry, the COTN Children’s Hour, is organized each week by Rev. James who has a passion for children’s ministry. Children from our home act out their scripts, recite verses, sing songs, tell stories, and invite the children of Freetown to know and love Jesus. When the phone lines are opened up, it is encouraging to hear the interest, questions, and testimonies that pour in. Our children love having this opportunity to share their faith and be creative with their presentation of the Salvation message that they have seen and experience in their own life.
