Mallory Jansen Memorial School (Marjay Town)

Mallory Jansen Memorial School (Marjay Town) is named after the late Mallory Jansen, the young daughter of Dr. Perry and Brenda Jansen, friends and fellow missionaries of COTN founders Chris and Debbie Clark.  (Perry and Brenda Jansen are also founders of Partners in Hope HIV/AIDS Clinic in Malawi, Africa, a COTN partner ministry.)

Mallory Jansen Memorial School (Marjay Town) is located in Marjay Town, a rural, highly impoverished community on the outskirts of Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown.  The building, once COTN's flagship orphan-care facility—the Marjay Town Children's Home—was converted into a community school in 2007 when the children were relocated to COTN's Banta Children's Village in Banta Mokelleh.

The school is an approved educational facility recognized by the Ministry of Education in Sierra Leone, offering Preschool, Primary, and Junior-Secondary (junior high) education.  In 2010, 194 students were enrolled in the school, which employs a staff of 11 teachers.
