A part of our Venture Program
7-Week Program
The 7-week Venture Internship is a hands-on, cultural immersion opportunity for students 18 to 24 years old to serve during June, July, and August. As an intern, you will work and interact daily in COTN villages/bateyes with national staff, other interns, and our children.

2012 Internship Cost: $2,999 + airfare
COTN Internships consist of four primary areas of service:
Mentoring
Meet and teach a small group of children/teens several times a week
New Skills
Build relationships and improve your language skills with a village or family by assisting with day-to-day cultural activities
Personal Ministry
Utilize your individual skills and interests to serve in a variety of ways
COTN Service
Learn what it takes to care for thousands of children each day
Activities may include:
- Participating in an after-school tutoring program
- Co-teaching in a COTN school or nursery school
- Teaching computer, English, or sewing lessons
- Participating in activities pertaining to microfinance
- Teaching health classes or conducting sports camps
- Conducting music, drama, art or fashion design classes
- Organizing debate teams
- Teaching world government classes
- Creating promotional videos
- Coordinating weekly outreach meetings for hundreds of children
- Working alongside national staff on agriculture projects
- Assisting with COTN Sponsorship projects or Venture Programs
- Assisting with COTN site maintenance
- Assisting with a COTN Village Partnership Program
- Planning and leading week-long camps for teens and/or young children
Included in the cost of the internship are training materials, food, lodging, in-country transportation, travel insurance, and project expenses. As a volunteer intern you may receive contributions from friends and family who will sponsor you. Once accepted, you will receive tools to assist you in your support raising.
Not included in the cost of the internship are airfare, passport and visa costs, entry and departure taxes, vaccinations, health insurance premium of $100, tips, and money for personal expenses (souvenirs, snacks, laundry, etc.).
You must also pay any cost associated with an early departure due to a serious violation of COTN policies.
