Global Book Club

a program of Children of the Nations

Through the Global Book Club, whose vision is "that every child should have access to books," Children of the Nations is raising money to buy books and build libraries for our children in Africa and the Dominican Republic.

Wendy Brown, International Education Director at Children of the Nations, created the Global Book Club in 2009 as a way of sharing information about learning conditions in our countries with both educators and students.  She has heard from teachers everywhere who are fascinated with our countries, wanting to know about class sizes, how we implement educational programs and institutions, and what programs we have instituted to promote literacy with our children.

The primary goal for the Global Book Club is to get one classrooms involved with celebrating International Literacy Day on September.  Information is not the only goal of this program, however.  Ultimately, Children of the Nations would like to build libraries for our students to use at their schools, and to do that we also need books.
