Biography

Mazawe lives with his widowed mother and one brother in the village of Chirombo. Mazawe’s father died of an unknown cause in 2001. Mazawe is living in very poor conditions and lacks sufficient food, clothing and other basic needs.

Mazawe is described as a quiet, honest and gentle boy. He likes to play soccer and with toy cars. Mazawe’s favorite color is blue and he enjoys school where his favorite subject is math. When he grows up, Mazawe hopes to be a teacher. Mazawe helps his family by cleaning, assisting in the kitchen and carrying water to the home.
