Biography

Osten lives with his widowed mother and two sisters in the village of Chirombo. Osten’s father died of malaria in 2000. Osten is living in very poor conditions and lacks sufficient food, clothing and other basic needs.

Osten is described as an obedient, cooperative and respectful boy. He likes to play soccer and tag with his friends. Osten’s favorite color is orange and he enjoys school where his favorite subject is math. When he grows up, Osten hopes to be a teacher. Osten helps his family by cleaning, washing dishes and carrying water to the home.
