Overview
Each May during our annual Hunger Campaign, COTN hosts Meal Marathons across the US. During this event volunteers in local communities participate in our food packaging program to prepare meals to be shipped overseas. Our packaging team sets up an assembly-line process where bags are filled with scoops of lentils, spice, fortified chicken powder and rice. Meal Marathons can range from a 2K to a 300K. At our largest event to date we packaged 300,000 meals—enough to fill a 40-foot shipping container!
