Roseline Yamba

of Sierra Leone

The graves of Roseline’s parents lie on the edge of the remote village where she was born. Her mother was a member of the Bundu secret society, a society of women that worshiped and made sacrifices to demons. Roseline’s mother died due to complications with her pregnancy. Her father was killed by a stray bullet during the war. Roseline was sleeping in a mud hut with seventeen other people when we first found her. With several men in the village dead because of the war, it was becoming increasingly difficult to provide for all the children. The village asked for our help to care for a couple of the orphans.

Roseline was around six years of age when she came into our home. It was not long after she arrived that we became aware she had been dedicated by her mother to the secret society and was facing some demonic oppression. With much prayer and Roseline’s willing heart, she has been released from demonic control and has taken Jesus Christ to be her personal Savior. Roseline is now going to school and growing up in a healthy, loving environment.
