Children of the Nations is committed to agricultural development in its countries of influence.
In Malawi, a 12-acre plot and additional leased land makes up Chitipi Farm, which provides the basics of corn/maize, vegetables, and livestock to our children’s homes and village assistance centers. As this program grows, so grows our ability to feed our children and develop their work ethic.
COTN staff have also developed the small scale livestock program. This has been a definite blessing to COTN. In addition to turkeys, rabbits, and “ducks galore,” pig breeding, goat herding, and animal husbandry are all part of what COTN is teaching our children. By doing this, we are not only providing delicious goat milk for the children to enjoy, but also ensuring them a viable future working in the agrarian culture, which dominates their country. We believe our children will someday be thriving self-providers thanks to the experiences they are having on the Chitipi Farm.
