Aspects of Care: Spiritual

Biblical Training
Dominican children that attend COTN schools not only get a great education, but training in the Bible as well. Unlike in the U.S., COTN children receive a Christ-centered education in the village schools we operate. We are eager to see these children grow to become godly men and women who will positively affect their culture!

Evangelism
Twice a week, our children in Chiwengo Village, Malawi visit neighboring villages to share the good news of Jesus Christ who saves, and who they know has saved them! With musical instruments in hand, our children pray and head out on difficult dirt roads to reach villages where 150–300 children of all ages are awaiting their arrival. They participate in games, eagerly talk and interact with village children, perform drama, share Jesus’ love and regularly lead other children to Christ. It’s amazing how God has changed the lives of our children, and even more, to see them extend His love to reach others!

Scripture Memory
Our children in Malawi love to memorize the Word of God and share their scriptures with visitors. The Word of God is the most healing message to fill an orphan’s heart. They memorize it and it nourishes their soul and their spirit. Meditating on God’s promises sustains them and helps them overcome many difficulties. Knowing God’s Word is a source of strength and wisdom they can draw on in life.

Worship
If you spent the night in the orphanage in Sierra Leone, at 5AM you would awaken to the sound of drums and children’s voices singing praises to God. Worship is an integral part of the lives of COTN children, as they daily praise and glorify God for their lives and express their desire to live wholeheartedly committed to Him.
