Milestones
1995
Chris and Debbie Clark visited Sierra Leone. They were overwhelmed by the needs of the children. Compelled to find help Chris resigned from West Puget Sound, Youth for Christ and founded Children of the Nations.
1996
Our first Feeding Center began in the Dominican Republic.
Our first Foreign National Board was set up in Sierra Leone.
1997
Our first foreign land was purchased and first Short-Term Team broke ground in Sierra Leone.
1998
Our first school was built in the Dominican Republic.
Our fist Medical Team performed operations in the Dominican Republic.
Bill Clark, serving with his wife Pat in Malawi, called home to his son…“You’ve got to do something for these orphans. Chris, they are in desperate circumstances!”
1999
Our first Children’s Homes opened in Malawi and Sierra Leone.
2000
The first Coin Banks were placed in local businesses to raise funds to feed children.
2001
We began our first Agricultural Project.
2002
Our Sierra Leone orphanage was dedicated and is now home to 87 children.
SmilePacks were created allowing individuals to send supplies and gifts to children in need.
2003
Ready Relief was created, giving schools a way to be prepared for disaster and help fight famine.
2004
We were given 45 acres in Banta Mokelleh, Sierra Leone to develop.
Our first Church of the Nations formed in Sierra Leone.
2005
Our first Medical & Dental Center opened in the Dominican Republic.
Our first Satellite Office opened in Orlando, Florida.
Our first Skills Center opened.
Our first Teen Home opened in Malawi.
2006
COTN International purchased land and office buildings in Washington State.
We began ministry in Uganda counseling children traumatized by war.
Our first Mission Center opened in Njewa, Malawi.
