Mallory Jansen Memorial School (Banta) is named after the late Mallory Jansen, the young daughter of Dr. Perry and Brenda Jansen, friends and fellow missionaries of COTN founders Chris and Debbie Clark. (Perry and Brenda Jansen are also founders of Partners in Hope HIV/AIDS Clinic in Malawi, Africa, a COTN partner ministry.)
Mallory Jansen Memorial School (Banta) is located at COTN's Banta Ministry Center in Banta Mokelleh, Sierra Leone. It is an approved educational facility recognized by the Ministry of Education in Sierra Leone, offering Preschool, Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary education. According to Sierra Leone's Minister of Education, "Mallory Jansen Memorial School (Banta) is the most quality school in the entire region."
The facility, constructed in 2007, consists of a preschool, a primary school, and junior and senior secondary schools. It also has a large recreational area complete with two football (soccer) fields and a basketball court.
