Praises & Prayer Requests

Haiti

September 2011

The Lord provided our Haiti Country Coordinator, Daniel Vallon, with a medical doctor from the United States who is a heart specialist!  He was able to do a thorough examination and get Daniel the medicine he needs for his recent medical issues. Thank you for your prayers, and praise the Lord for His incredible response.

Please keep the COTN-Haiti board of directors in your prayers as they continue their first few meetings and make major decisions on our next steps there.  Pray they would be sensitive to God’s leading.

Mikelyn and Woodlyn, two of our children who were severely injured in the 2010 earthquake, are continuing physical therapy and are doing great.  Praise God for His healing, and please pray for their continued progress and health.

August 2011

We thank God for providing for our children. Last month, each of the thirteen families we care for received food and other supplies donated by our partners.

Our in-country staff continue to search for land on which to build a permanent ministry site. Please pray that God will guide them and provide a reliable vehicle to assist them in this process.

Pray also for the health of our Haiti Country Coordinator, Daniel Vallon, who is suffering from high blood pressure.

July 2011

Praise God that the families of Steven Reveil, Woodlyn Jean, and Silot Anderson moved into rental homes in early June. Now all six families who were living in tents have safe, secure places to stay.

Brian Perry, our new Haiti Startup Consultant/Liaison, is getting settled at our temporary office in Gressier, just outside of Port-au-Prince. Pray that God will bless him and Country Coordinator Daniel Vallon as they minister to the people of Haiti and search for land for a permanent ministry site.

June 2011

Praise God that three of the thirteen families we are ministering to in Haiti have moved into their rental homes!  The families of Bolivena, Kervens, and Stanley had been living in tents since January 2010, when the earthquake in Haiti destroyed their homes.  Pray that God would continue to bless all our children in Haiti, and their families, as we search for rental homes for the families that still need them, and a place to build permanent homes for each family.

Praise God for a new staff member in Haiti. Brian Perry of California, who comes to us from Samaritan’s Purse, will work with COTN–Haiti Country Coordinator Daniel Vallon to develop our ministry in Haiti.

Daniel has acquired a one-year lease on a property to serve as a temporary office and guest house in Haiti. Praise God!

May 2011

Praise God that the last three of our Haitian children needing prostheses have received them.  Mikelyn, Woodlyn, and Luciano each received prosthetic arms last month.

Please pray for wisdom and endurance for COTN–Haiti Country Coordinator Daniel Vallon, as he continues to interview candidates for our COTN–Haiti board of directors.

Pray also for  God’s guidance as we prepare to buy land and form partnerships with construction companies for our ministry in Haiti.

April 2011

After a March Vision Trip, we have identified a possible ministry site in Leogane, Haiti. Flood Church in San Diego is striving to raise $100,000 for our land purchase! We also have a potential construction partnership with Samaritan’s Purse.

Please pray for God’s continued guidance and providence as we seek a permanent ministry site in Haiti, raise money for land, and build partnerships with fellow ministry leaders.

Pray for wisdom and guidance as Country Coordinator Daniel Vallon continues to meet with prospective COTN–Haiti board members.

Pray also for peace in Haiti following recent presidential elections.

March 2011

Praise God that COTN–Haiti Country Coordinator Daniel Vallon returned safely from the Dominican Republic to Haiti recently, and was protected from disturbances at the border.

Pray for safety and guidance as COTN founder Chris Clark and COTN–USA staff member Erik Nield embark on a Vision trip to decide where to begin development of COTN–Haiti.

Pray also for peace surrounding the March 20th elections in Haiti.

February 2011

Please continue to pray for the political situation in Haiti, and the families we support, as well as the country a whole.

Also pray for the Lord's presence and protection to be with Daniel Vallon, COTN–Haiti Country Coordinator as he works on locating potential property locations for COTN–Haiti.

January 2011

As the anniversary of Haiti’s devastating earthquake is upon us this month, we reflect on our blessings that the children COTN cared for are still alive and well.  Continue to pray for these children as important elections are underway, determining the future of this fragile nation.

Also pray for provision as COTN searches for land to construct a permanent ministry site.
