Kasungu, Malawi
The town of Kasungu is located in the Kasungu District approximately 130 kilometers (80 miles) from Lilongwe. The area depends mainly on tobacco production, and tourism has developed with the opening of the nearly 914-square-mile Kasungu National Park (1970). The town is situated near the farm where the country’s first president, Hastings Kamuzu Banda, was born.
