A Children’s Home for Orphans ($22,000 needed)
Give orphaned children the protection, security, and nurturing environment they need. Many of our children know what it’s like to live on the street, sleep in stairways, and wrap themselves in plastic or cardboard to shield themselves from the elements. Your special gift will allow these children to be raised in a village setting in family-style homes where loving house parents can provide the family structure and encouragement they crave. Phase One of our Banta Children’s Village will soon be complete. Thank you for helping our children’s dream become reality!
A Teacher’s Salary for One Year
This gift is a two-for-one! It provides teachers for children that might not otherwise have the opportunity to receive an education (in Sierra Leone only 4 out of 10 children have the opportunity to go to school). It also provides a wage for someone in a country where steady employment is rare—employment opportunities are a blessing to the local economy. This gift will keep on giving as our children grow and learn under their teachers’ instruction. Knowledge is priceless—our children will be forever grateful for your contribution to their education and the development of their country.
Christmas Outfit for an Orphan
What is at the top of your Christmas wish list? In Sierra Leone, many of our children wish for a new outfit to wear Christmas morning—a luxury many children in this country still only dream about. Your gift will grant a Christmas wish for a child in need and provide them with much-needed clothing that will be a prized possession the whole year through.
New (used) Vehicle ($30,000 needed)
Transportation for our children and staff is desperately needed! Now that our ministry site is deep in the bush (250 miles from the capital city of Freetown and a three-hour walk from the nearest town where supplies can be purchased) reliable vehicles are invaluable! Your special gift will provide our children and staff access to a host of benefits. Children from distant and remote villages will be able to come to school and our staff will have access to transport supplies for building projects, community development programs, and everyday needs such as fresh fish, bread, and fruits to supplement our children’s nutrition.
Feed 65 Children with Our Rice-Lentil Meal
One out of three children (0–5 years old) in Sierra Leone suffers from moderate to severe malnutrition, which stunts both their growth and IQ as significantly as 40%. With your help, COTN can provide these children with a nutritionally balanced meal of lentils and rice fortified with vitamins and seasoned with chicken flavoring and spices. Your gift will bring health and hope for a brighter future.
