Biography

Getrude lives with her mother, two brothers and two sisters in the village of Mgwayi. Her father’s whereabouts are unknown. Getrude is living in very poor conditions where her family lacks sufficient food, clothing and other basic needs.

Getrude is described as a responsible, obedient and friendly girl. She plays well with others and likes to play netball with her friends. Getrude’s favorite color is yellow and her favorite subjects in school are math and art. When she grows up, Getrude hopes to be a nurse. She helps her family by sweeping the floor, washing dishes and carrying water from the village well.
