Summary

The Communications Department is seeking an in-house Graphic Designer for our COTN–USA office (Silverdale, Washington).

Responsibilities Include

  • Creating original graphic art for brochures, small magazines/catalogs, newsletters, marketing components, posters/cards, direct mail, logos, specialty projects, etc.
  • Using a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design
  • Working collectively (as part of a creative team) with writers, editors, photographers, other designers, department/satellite heads, printers, and web designer
  • Presenting preliminary designs and/or mockups, making changes as necessary and/or requested
  • Preparing artwork for process color printing and uploading via FTP
  • Effectively multi-tasking; often working on more than one project at a time

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of graphic design principles, a wide variety of media, and production methods
  • Excellence in graphic design, page layout, typography, color sense and paper selection (demonstrated via a professional portfolio)
  • Understanding of brand strategies and target audiences
  • A high degree of innovation and flexibility
  • A strong understanding of print and production work
  • The ability to efficiently organize and allocate time for completion of projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

Required Experience

  • A two-year degree (minimum)
  • 2+ years experience in Graphic Design, Commercial Art, Visual Communications, or Computer Graphics
